Biography: Mr. Johnson serves numerous local
governments in Utah and surrounding states. He has acted
as bond counsel on hundreds of public projects for essentially
all types of public entities, such as cities, counties, school
districts, interlocal agencies, special districts, municipal building
authorities, etc. Frequently,
these financings assist communities advance economic development
and enhance fiscal stability. However, Mr. Johnson has also
assisted communities in surmounting distressing financial circumstances. His
services require him to work closely with state and local officials
at essentially all levels. As the foregoing indicates, Mr.
Johnson has experience with basically all types of public financings,
from the most sophisticated to the commonplace. In addition,
Mr. Johnson acts as general counsel to the following Utah communities,
City of Cedar Hills, Mapleton City, Town of Brian Head, and the
Town of Goshen. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Johnson
clerked for Justice I. Daniel Stewart of the Utah Supreme Court
1994-1995. Prior to joining Smith Hartvigsen, Mr. Johnson was bond
counsel in the Salt Lake City office of a national law firm.
